Training the best-in-class

Training the best-in-class

In response to a growing demand for safer skies, this year Bell Helicopter, an industry-leading manufacturer of helicopters for both commercial and military use, opened the doors to its brand-new training facility the ‘Bell Helicopter Training Academy’ (BTA) in Valencia, Spain.

Built on a partnership between Bell Helicopter and sister company, TRU Simulation + Training, (BTA)-Valencia offers a fully integrated, high-fidelity training solution instructed on the first-ever Bell 429 EASA-certified Level D Full-Flight simulator. Pilots can practice flying in all weather conditions thanks to an immersive ten-projector 41 megapixel visual field of view, plus motion performance technology to ensure a true-to-life experience.

Since opening in January, more than thirty Bell 429 pilots from all over the world have passed through the state-of-the-art facility for both initial and refresher training, leaving with an EASA-Authorized Training Organisation (ATO) certificate. Following recognition globally for the world-class standard of training provided, the centre has seen a substantial increase in the number of bookings. What’s more, with every helicopter purchased from Bell Helicopter, Bell will provide full training for two pilots with highly experienced instructors, each with more than 5,000 hours of helicopter experience and presenting regularly scheduled training classes in English, French, Spanish and Italian.

BTA-Valencia not only provides the opportunity for commercial pilots to significantly improve their skills, but also offers highly specialised training for Emergency Medical Services and other major operator pilots.

Offering touchpoints for pilots and customers around the globe, in addition to its world-class training facility in Spain, the OEM’s Prague delivery centre customises helicopters to clients’ specific needs, providing a highly specialised product for completely bespoke orders. Additionally, Bell has a rotor blade repair centre located in Warminster, UK and a supply centre in Amsterdam, which celebrated 40 years of serving customers throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 2015, delivering products in just 48 hours.

Bell Helicopter will be at Helitech International from 3-5 October 2017. Meet the team on stand C40.
